The all new 2023 Honda Accord returns with updates and a new and improved hybrid system. Electrification has been a huge focus for the 11th generation of the Honda Accord.Â
New body proportions and a broader stance highlight its sporty nature as well as Honda’s new design language for their updated generation models.Â
Gas mileage is sure to impress regardless of powertrain choice. And you never have to sacrifice power for efficiency with the Honda Accord. Â
Both engine options provide ample power for daily driving. The first engine option is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that ensures smooth power delivery and maximum gas mileage. This tried and true motor also averages 30 mpg city and 38 mpg highway making it a great option for city or highway driving.Â
Looking for a smaller carbon footprint? Try the Honda Accord Hybrid. The 2.0L engine combined with 2 electric motors produce 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. Not only is the hybrid more powerful than ever but it also returns impressive gas mileage both in the city and on the highway. 47 mpg combined is to be expected in the new Hybrid Accord giving it a truly impressive 602 miles of driving range.Â
Refinements and improvements to the existing suspension and body architecture allow for better ride, handling and overall refinement.Â
The exterior of this legendary midsize sedan has been engineered to impress with long clean body lines and a sharper overall design. The Accord also receives an all new front grille and headlights that are slimmer to match the rear light bar that replaces the previous tail light design. For the 2023 model year, the length of the vehicle increases by 2.8 inches making it as big on the outside as it feels on the inside. Not only does this sedan gain more exterior length and design elements, but the 2023 Accord is also full of exterior features and accessories that make it a joy to own as well as immensely useful. All new body stabilizing seats in the front are designed for more comfort and less fatigue on long drives. With the rear seats folded down, this sedan has best-in-class interior room, adding to the 16.7 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. The Honda Accord consistently ranks as one of the safest vehicles on the road. The IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and 5 star NHTSA rating are likely to carry over to the new Accord due to body structure improvements as well as a list of new and improved safety features. The updated Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure was created to increase safety during an angled frontal-impact crash and should stand up better to collisions with larger, heavier vehicles.
Improvements were also made to the airbags, making them safer for the head and neck in the event of an accident. Honda has also added airbags for passenger legs in order to reduce injuries in a crash. Many safety features come standard as part of Honda Sensing® and Honda has included new cameras for better pedestrian and cyclist detection. Features include Blind-Spot Warning, Lane Keeping and Lane Centering Assistance, and newly added Traffic Sign Recognition and Traffic-Jam Assist for a semi-autonomous driving experience. Additional features such as Rear-Seat Reminder System, find-my-car function, a stolen-vehicle locator, and a remote vehicle-immobilizer feature give drives even more peace of mind.
