honda civic 2016 priceSince the Geneva Motor Show gave us a sneak peek of the Civic Type R, we’ve been following news on the 2016 Honda Civic closely and finally Honda is letting out small whispers of news. By whispers we mean sporty pictures of the electric-green variety in their concept version that have us leaping out of our office chairs in excitement. If you’re like us, you’ll be chomping at the bit for the 2016 Honda Civic release date and pricing.

Honda finally flaunted the completely redesigned 10th generation of the Honda Civic, and it’s a show stopper. The Civic has always been the stylish small car to beat when it comes to an upscale feel at an affordable price, but the 2016 redesign shows you don’t have to jump into a Type R for a sporty driving style. If looks don’t deceive us, this concept shown at the New York International Auto Show will achieve high praise for its ultra-sporty exterior, while still giving fans all the practical aspects which make the Civic so popular now. We’re talking excellent fuel economy, newest features and an even better driving style.

The new Civic lineup will include a sedan, coupe, 5-door hatchback and Si styles, as well as the Type R we’ve been so excited about. You’ll remember we were wondering if the hatchback rumors are true, and it looks like this baby is finally returning to the U.S. Honda has announced that this new Civic will be the first to have a 1.5L VTEC turbo engine, meaning we’ll see what all the Earth Dreams Technology talk is all about. We can’t even begin to imagine what the performance will be like, except to say the executive VP is quoted as saying, “in every way, this will be an epic Civic.” We fully believe heroic poetry will be written about this vehicle, most likely by our own staffers here at Honda of Burien.

What’s so different about the redesign? A longer wheelbase and lower stance gives it a more muscular look, with a longer hood and shorter front overhang  giving it a look of always speeding ahead. New LED headlights sit thin and sleek next to a grille which places the “H” honda simple front and center. A manual transmission is expected to come standard, with a CVT giving a sportier feel. Of course fuel-economy and performance will be better than ever, making it as drool-worthy for power-thirsty bachelors as it is for those toting around a family.

The release for the 2016 Honda Civic is expected as early as this fall. The price hasn’t been released yet, but should fall around $25,000 to start.

For those who just can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a Civic, come to Honda of Burien to test drive the 2015 model year today.
