Sometimes fuel economy comes at the expense of a spirited engine. But with the 2023 Honda HR-V, you can experience a solid performance. Every 2023 Honda HR-V is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of producing 158 horsepower at 6,500 revolutions per minute, as well as 138 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is more powerful and offers lower emissions than the first generation of Honda HR-V models.

The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that’s been engineered to provide a more responsive ride. It also features Honda’s Step-Shift functionality, where gear changes will be simulated when accelerating at full throttle.
