If you’re an art lover looking for a local event to enjoy this summer, you won’t want to miss this year’s edition of the Alki Art Fair. The 21st annual Alki Art Fair will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 and Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 10 AM to 6 PM each day, with music performances on Saturday evening extending to 9 PM. It’s a free and family-friendly event to celebrate and appreciate art in the local community. There are many great activities to enjoy at the fair, including:

  • Art booths, with the new Emerging Artists Booth for artists just starting out and more than 75 artist vendors
  • Children’s art activities, featuring the Fairy Garden with book readings, pace painting, and more
  • Food trucks and booths
  • Live music and performances at four stages
  • Silent art auction in the historic Alki Bathhouse

Visitors can explore everything that the fair has to offer while enjoying summer on Alki Beach. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy the pieces that the artists have to show. Some of the art displayed will also be available for purchase, which is a great way to support the independent artists featured at the fair.

About the Alki Art Fair

The first Alki Art Fair took place in 1997. Since 2011, it has been operated as a nonprofit organization, with a team of volunteers helping to organize, set up, and keep the event running smoothly. The mission of the fair is to “advance art education and appreciation by offering opportunities for community involvement and cultural diversity through art.” Last year, the fair welcomed 10,000 attendees of all ages to enjoy everything that the event has to offer.

Getting to the Alki Art Fair

A free shuttle bus will be available from the West Seattle Park & Ride under the West Seattle Bridge, running Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The shuttle bus is a great way to get to the fair without having to deal with traffic or parking in the Alki area.
