Difference between 2016 Honda Pilot trim options
When it comes time to buy a new vehicle, the complications don’t end when you narrow down your choices to a specific make and model. Each vehicle also has a variety of trim options, which means a pile of features to sort through and decide which ones are necessary, and which ones you’re not willing to break the bank for. The 2016 Honda Pilot has just come into showrooms, with five trim options that vary wildly in price. Knowing the differences between 2016 Honda Pilot trim options will help you narrow down your options to just the right pick for your needs.
What are the 2016 Honda Pilot trim options?
What it comes right down to the mechanics of your 2016 Honda Pilot, all the models will be mostly the same. There’s a V6 engine under every hood and the body is no different between trims. The major differences are going to be in the features, which cover everything from tires to technology. The five trim levels, from base level to the most fully-loaded are the LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and Elite. Though they all have the same engine, the LX, EX and EX-L are al paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the Touring and Elite both have a 9-speed automatic
Standard features in the 2016 Honda Pilot trim levels
The LX comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, as does the EX and EX-L, manual air conditioning, cruise control, a seven-speaker sound system, a rearview camera and Bluetooth with audio streaming.
Upgrading to the EX means adding on automatic headlights, fog lights, heated mirrors, keyless ignition, the Honda LaneWatch blind-spot camera, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, HondaLink, three-zone climate control, SiriusXM and Pandora compatibility. While AWD is available in the LX, intelligent traction management for two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive starts at the EX and is available through all the higher trim levels except for the Elite, which does not have a two-wheel drive option.
The extra features found in the EX-L aren’t as expansive as the jump between the LX and the EX, with the addition of a sunroof, leather-steering wheel, leather upholstery, four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, power tailgate, heated front seats and auto dimming rearview mirror.
The Touring takes all the features from the EX and EX-L, but with automatic engine start/stop, front and rear parking sensors, driver memory settings, second row sunshades, a 10-speaker sound system, roof rails and 20” alloy wheels.
Finally, the Elite expands on the features in the Touring for the best luxury found in the 2016 Honda Pilot. With this trim buyers add on LED headlights, heated and ventilated seats, automatic high-beam headlight control, a new blind-spot camera with rear cross traffic alerts, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, second-row captain’s chairs (which decrease the seating capacity to seven instead of eight) and HD radio.
While this covers the basics of the trim levels, there are also a few packages available that can add on even more features for some of the trim levels. Schedule a test drive or contact one of our expert staff members at Honda of Burien to learn more.
