What do we know about the 2016 Honda Pilot so far?

hondapilotblueHonda knows how to leave us wanting more. While the 2016 Honda Pilot was finally revealed to the public at the Chicago Auto Show last week, we were still left without every answer that we were looking for. But maybe that’s alright. After all, what fun would it be if we knew EVERYTHING right away? Besides, there was plenty of information available at the unveiling event. Let’s take a look at what we know about the 2016 Honda Pilot so far.

Maybe most impressive was the fact that the 2016 Honda Pilot will utilize a new nine-speed transmission with paddle shifters in some of the higher trims. Fuel economy was one of the big figures that was left out of the presentation, but we can figure that with a nine-speed transmission, the gas mileage is going to be pretty impressive – at the very least improved from the previous model.

Also improving the fuel economy will be the lighter weight of the vehicle. The 2016 Pilot will be 300 pounds lighter than the previous version. This follows suit with many of the car companies that are doing everything in their power to make their vehicles more efficient. And the powertrain for all of this will be a new direct-injection V-6 engine. Again, expect this new engine to improve efficiency as well.

Expect some new goodies such as five USB ports, HDMI port, power outlet and other needed features on the newest version of the Pilot.

Of course, the new style can’t be understated either. When you factor all of it in, it’s obvious that the new Pilot is going to be something special. For details on the release of the new Pilot, stay in touch with us here at Honda of Burien.
