Next-Generation Honda Ridgeline

When the current body style of the Honda Ridgeline was produced, it truly broke ground in the industry. In fact, it was named the North American Truck of the Year and Motor Trend Truck of the Year after its debut. And while the Ridgeline still has a lot to give in the industry, we were also excited to learn that Honda will be updating the truck in less than two years.

The “less than two years” figure comes straight from a press release that Honda sent out. Current production of the Ridgeline that we know today will end in mid 2014 and an entirely new truck will begin to form. Of course, Honda released a teaser sketch of the new truck, but it is merely an outline of a truck. Per the usual, we will have to wait for any concrete details and images that can actually help us out and provide what we want to see.

Hopefully Honda expands on the successful aspects of the current truck. The Ridgeline was responsible for providing the first closed-box unibody platform in the industry. It did this while offering a five-passenger cabin and half-ton capability.

Even though there will be a next-generation Honda Ridgeline coming somewhat soon, there is still plenty to love about the current Ridgeline, like we mentioned. There will be a Ridgeline Special Edition released in the 2014 model year that provides some extra features for consumers. Other than that, the Ridgeline will still be bringing it in the performance and efficiency categories as well as providing great capability for a V-6 truck.
