What sets the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport apart?

The 2023 model year has been a huge one for the Honda lineup. Not only did the Civic Type R return to the lineup this year, but the Accord, HR-V, CR-V and Pilot have all been redesigned as they enter new generations as well. The 2023 Honda Pilot, for example, enters its fourth generation after 20 years on the lineup. While the midsize crossover was completely redesigned and there’s plenty to get excited about, we’re perhaps most excited about the brand-new TrailSport trim level, the most rugged and off-road capable SUV the brand has ever built. We thought we’d take a look at what sets apart this new trim level from the rest of the available trims, so read on below to learn more!

Highlighted Specs & Features

There are ten different trim level configurations in total available for the Pilot this year. While Sport is the base trim level and Elite remains the top-of-the-line, the new TrailSport trim level slides into the available options right below the Elite trim and above Touring. For starters, TrailSport comes with a host of exclusive hardware meant to enhance its off-road capabilities. These features include a suspension system tuned specifically to off-road driving – including one extra inch of ground clearance, steel skid plates and all-terrain tires wrapped around the model’s unique 18” wheels.

Honda has also built a new TrailWatch camera system that comes standard on the TrailSport and Elite trim levels, combining four different exterior cameras and angles to aid in the navigation of trails and other off-road terrain. In addition, a sliding panoramic sunroof also comes standard.

As for unique design cues, in addition to those aforementioned wheels, the TrailSport is available in an exterior color option exclusive to the trim level called Diffused Sky Blue. On the inside of the vehicle, it features orange contrast stitching throughout the cabin, a set of all-season floor mats sporting the trim’s logo, plus matching embroidery on the head restraints.
